May 21, 2010 - John Darrah is happy to announce the hiring of Richard "Dick" Howard to Vice President/Director, Retirement Plan Services.

Dick will work from his residence office and manage the retirement plan services division for HKFS along with Amy Wertz.

Dick is an attorney and a member of the Iowa State Bar and Des Moines County Bar Associations. He holds the Certified Retirement Services Professional (CRSP) designation from the ABA. Dick earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a History major from the University of Iowa and he holds a Doctorate of Law from the College of Law of the University of Iowa. He serves on the Board for the Young House Family Services Foundation in Burlington which provides services for at-risk youths.

July 21, 2009 - HKFS announces the return of Kathy Decker as our "Voice of HKFS" at the front desk greeting customers and answering our multi-line switchboard. She will also responsible for processing incoming mail when possible and all outgoing mail, purchasing all office supplies, and assisting with other administrative duties and special projects as needed.

Kathy is a graduate of Northeast Iowa Technical Institute (currently: Northeast Iowa Community College) in Peosta, Iowa where she earned a diploma in bookkeeping/accounting. Kathy originally joined HKFS in January of 1996, leaving in September of 1999 to raise her family and work for their family business (Decker Tractor Repair in Holy Cross). Kathy brings with her over eighteen years of experience in the receptionist/administrative assistant field and four years of customer service experience.

Kathy resides in Holy Cross, Iowa with her husband Wayne, their two children Brian and Becky, and their family dog Buddy. Kathy is involved in her community as a Girl Scout Leader for Dyersville Troop 7019 and a Boy Scout Troop 88 Committee Member in Holy Cross. She also volunteers her time to help others whenever possible. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking/baking, reading, playing games, word searches, and doing embroidery.
